Wow, it has been over a year since I last posted (Thanks Tammi for pointing this out!) and I am going to make another attempt at the blogging world. Let's see where to start?
This last spring Kaysie played softball and made the All-Star team! She played starting catcher, short stop, and left field during the summer. She has amazing self motivation and gives 100% of whatever she puts her heart into. We had a lot of fun watching her grow and have met several new friends on the field! She is now in 5th Grade! I can't believe how fast time flies, she is at the top of her class in all subjects and is already learning pre-algebra! She loves to sing and has a voice that astonishes me! (I know this did not come from me as I struggle staying on tune for simple songs like Happy Birthday!) This fall she is playing Rec ball and is enjoying being one of the best players on her team!
Shailyn hasn't been involved in much as she is still recovering from her accident, but in August she was FINALLY cleared to resume normal activities!! (Yes, I did a happy dance after we left that doctors appointment!) She has lost a lot of strength and stamina but with some work we will overcome this. She wants to get back into gymnastics which we are excited for but saddened that she has to start in the beginners class again. She still is suffering from Migraines and we are trying to find a good solution for these. She continues to see the Orthodontist and they are monitoring the growth of her left jaw bone to make sure it continues to grow after she shattered her growth plate. If all goes well, this should prevent another surgery. I am keeping my fingers crossed! She is now in Jr. High! This year has been an adjustment for both of us but she seems to be getting it down.
Austin is officially in High School this year. Honestly I can't believe he is so old! I was in 10th grade when my life took a drastic turn and I found out I was pregnant, got married and started my adult life. He doesn't seem quite old enough for me to even think him capable of living in this world by himself but I guess that is one of the joys of parenting! Last Spring he played soccer with his school and seemed to really enjoy it. This year he is in Video Game Club and as long as that is available I doubt I will convince him to join anything else! He has such a crazy sleeping schedule, he goes to bed between 6:30 and 7:00 and wakes up sometime between 1:30 and 4:00 AM. This really complicates things as we usually have something going on after 6 every night. He is such a good person, and now that he and his attitude have adjusted back to being in school he is such a joy to have around!
This fall Tim and I decided to coach Rec ball, this has been interesting to say the least! We have 14 girls on our team and out of those 14, 6 have never played before... This is currently taking up a good majority of our evenings but we love to watch the girls improve from week to week and see the pride in their faces when they finally get something down! Kaysie is enjoying being one of the best players on her team and pitched her first game last week! Other than that we are surviving, with me not having a full time job we have had to make a lot of adjustments to our lifestyle but so far we have made it :)
One of these days I will get to downloading pictures, when I do I will probably remember more and have something to say about it. For now I am congratulating myself on a completed post!
